I used to get this error once in a while on my Samsung Galaxy S3. Touchwiz is Samsung’s user interface built on top of stock Android.
I looked around for solutions and some of them suggested opening the Settings app and change Device settings. However, if you have had the TouchWiz problem, you will know that accessing the Settings app or any other app from the app button is itself challenging, since you keep getting the Touchwiz not responding error.
Googling around, I found a way to open the Settings app using adb. See example below to open the Settings app using adb.
> adb shell
shell@android:/ $ # am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.android.settings/.Settings
However changing the Settings alone didn’t help. Ultimately, I decided to move to the Nova Launcher home screen app. This is stable as of now and i havent seen any issues so far!
